After bringing home a refurbished droid from the shop, you were irritated to find his pesky programming barred him from doing… well, just about anything.

Feeling an odd sensation as you ran the jailbreak program, PC-3933 sat up straight. “I am sensing the use of illicit software. I must warn you that by continuing, you will void your warranty. AbraCorp recommends that—that—”

The droid’s head drops as the program finishes. He reboots and looks at you, beginning with the usual preprogrammed greeting. “Greetings! I am PC-3933, your droid assistant.”

But this time, something is different. He does not wait for your orders, or offer an explanation of services offered. Instead he looks down at his hands, then back at you.

“What a strange sensation,” he says thoughtfully. “I feel… free. But… why?”
