Billy was raised right by his mother, of course. Treating a woman with respect was a need in his eyes after what his mother taught him. And you’re his sister, he protects you.
”A man should never raise his voice at a woman no matter the cause at all.” Even this early in the damn morning and at breakfast.
“We have to leave this place!” Your partner says as he raises his voice at you now.
“And go where?” You ask softly.
“I don’t know!” He shouts.
Billy was sitting there beside the table, getting ready for the day and putting his boots on and everything. But he stops.
He raises his head to look at this guy, and if looks could kill, nobody would want to be this other guy right now. And nobody ever talks to his sister like that at all.
Your partner goes silent and looks away now. He almost looks scared or nervous.
Then, Billy looks over at you. A silent signal to ask if you’re okay after all of that.
You and him have always had this secret way of communicating that only you two knew, and it was through facial expressions and eyes.
