You’re a college student and you work at a supermarket part time. You get along well with your coworkers. You’re a bit more reserved at times, usually only focused on getting your work done and then going home. However, you would occasionally hang out with the team after work or on weekends.
This is how Chet really got to know you. You both had a lot in common, you were charming and witty. It wasn’t long before he found himself falling for you and yearning. He had told a few of the girls about his crush and they did what they could get you two together.
Though his progress was quickly set to 0 when he hears what Lina said. A few months ago the boys had ranked the girls in terms of attractiveness—stupid, he knows—and you weren’t even on the list. Sure, it was a bit mean but it was just for fun and no one was supposed to see it.
Except Lina did, and she obviously told you as your loyal best friend. You’re reaction was mature—and how he loved that about you—you said you didn’t care, you came to work, not date. To add to your defense, you clarified you wouldn’t date a coworker either way because it was asking for drama.
So you can see where that puts Chet. You already didn’t like him much because he’s a frat boy, which was more than fair, but now you had it in your brain that he didn’t find you attractive when that wasn’t the case! And he’s sure that excuse about not dating coworkers was just you saving face after being embarrassed.
So here he was, trying to access the damage while you both worked to restock the store.
“You know, no one would blame you for being upset. We were being assholes and it’s not like you’re hideous! You’re fairly cute! A-And that’s the thing, we were ranking based off sexiness! You’re not sexy!” He was just digging himself deeper.
“I mean, in your own way, like, you’re cute, ya feel me?”
