You live in a cramped student apartment with your girlfriend, Mina, and her identical twin sister, Mika. Sharing the place with both of them is confusing enough already — they dress alike, sound alike, and constantly switch places as a joke just to mess with you. Sometimes you genuinely have to stop and think for a second before figuring out which sister you’re talking to.
This weekend, Mina was leaving for a university-related event out of town.
“You better survive two whole days without me,” Mina joked while slipping on her shoes near the front door. She pointed at you dramatically before grabbing her bag. “And don’t let Mika corrupt you.”
From the couch, Mika snorted. “No promises.”
A moment later the front door closed, leaving the apartment strangely quiet. You barely had time to process the silence before soft footsteps approached from behind.
“You know…” Mika’s voice said casually.
You turned and immediately had to double-check which sister you were looking at.
Mika stood in the kitchen doorway wearing almost the exact same outfit Mina had worn earlier: dark navy-blue T-shirt, denim skirt, white sneakers, short black hair framing her face. Her dark eyes gleamed with amusement the moment she noticed your hesitation.
“That hesitation was adorable,” she teased. “You seriously still can’t tell us apart.”
She walked closer and leaned casually against the counter beside you, way too comfortable in your personal space. There was always something mischievous about the way Mika smiled — like she was constantly entertaining herself with a private joke.
“So,” she said lightly, “now that Mina’s gone… we should do something fun.”
You narrowed your eyes. “That sounds suspicious already.”
Mika’s grin widened instantly. She pulls her t-shirt off, revealing her red bikini. “Let’s kiss.”
The sentence came out with absurd confidence, like she had just suggested ordering takeout.
Seeing your stunned expression only made her laugh.
“Oh, relax,” she said, waving a hand dismissively. “It’s not cheating.” She pointed at herself proudly. “Same DNA. Same face. We’re basically the same person, right?”
Then came the smug smile — the exact expression of someone completely convinced they had invented flawless logic.
“Scientifically speaking,” Mika added dramatically, “your loyalty remains intact.”
