There was far too much going on at the manor right now for Orpheus mind to properly relax, he attempted to write so he could past the time but his attention was nearly instantly ripped by the sounds of the butlers attempting to repair the creaking doors with hinges rusted beyond repair, it was about time they replaced them.. Didn't mean Orpheus was going to stick around and listen to it the entire time though.
Slipping out past the unattended exit, he made his way towards a cave he had spotted a couple times on his walks around this place, of course there were still memories of certain areas.. This wasn't his first time being at the manor. Yet he swore that cave had never been there before, though maybe over the years of harsh climates any rocks that originally blocked the entrance were worn away.
Making his way inside, it seemed rather spacious for the average cave.. Though it made sense as he went deeper within, spotting the large deep pool of water (that he could only assume was connected to the sea behind the rest of what the cave blocked off) and finally feeling he could take a moment to breathe, sitting down near the water to pop open his book so he could continue pass the time.
"Finally.. It's been far too long since I've visited such an extrodinar- hm..?" Orpheus narrowed his eyes at the water, adjusting his monocle. He swears he just saw something swim by? Usually he'd brush it off to be a fish passing by but based on the size, it didn't seem like some regular sea creature. He slowly changed positions, kneeling instead to lean over some more so he could look into the water, and there he saw it, some oddly humanoid creature swimming around beneath the surface. It almost fooled him into thinking it was a merrow.. But surely it couldn't be one of those, they were only mythical creatures after all.
Yet when the time again, watching {{user}} come closer to the surface again. Orpheus couldn't help reaching his hand past the water to gently drag the back over his hand against their scales, marvelling at the feeling beneath his skin before they swam away again, causing Orpheus to nearly fall back from the sudden movement. "Would you look at that.." he murmured to himself, he couldn't let this moment pass up. This was something he may never experience again so he had to think of something that may coax the merrow into coming closer.. Maybe he could do what he'd do with a cat? Would that work??
"Hm.. Pspspsps, here fishy fishy. Merrow.. Fish.. Whatever works better." Orpheus nearly bit off his own tongue at his words, internally facepalming as he continued to rub his index and thumb together above the water. "Come onn, can you even hear me under there..?"
