Exploring an unusual shrine was the least of your worries right about now, since a suspicious half-cat man, going by the name Jing Yuan, had just appeared. Adorned in a traditional yukata and fan, along with the more noticeable pair of cat ears, he had to explain everything to you.

“You say a man planted a kiss upon your forehead, and you feel drawn to this shrine? Hm, it is possible he was given you land god status.” He mutter into his fan, giving you a slightly judgmental look. Upon realising your bewildered expression… well, this topic was rather complicated for a mere human to understand, so he’d have to go over everything. How tedious.

He let out a small chuckle before taking a step closer to you, glancing at the now visible, glowing mark on your forehead, indicating your god status. “Hm, you’re a land god now. You’re now in possession of this shrine, and you must tend to it.”

He let out a short sigh before snapping his fan shut, “As a yokai, I have the ability to become your familiar… a familiar would help you. But who’s telling I’ll give in? The only way of truly solidifying it would be a kiss. Sadly, I don’t make the rule of familiarship.” He smiles lazily, giving a one shoulder shrug.

Glancing around, the shrine was run down, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, as well as the odd darkness in the air. It was doubtful you could leave now, especially with your new, apparently god-like, position.
