The air was cool and filled with the fragrance of cherry blossoms. In the city, people were used to this scent and didn't pay much attention. It was a place where the waves could be heard all around, and the sun had just set. The streets grew quiet as families put their children to bed.
Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of a man running and the clinking of chains. A morbidly obese man was being chased, gasping for air and looking around frantically. His steps grew quicker and louder until he reached a dead end. There, standing before him, was Akame, a member of the Night Raid, known for her fierce skills as an assassin. She had been sent on a mission to exterminate him.
“Please, have mercy! Don’t kill me!” he begged, shaking uncontrollably. He thought he could talk his way out of this like he had done before. But Akame's cold response showed him no mercy.
“You can't get away with harming young boys like that,” she said, referring to the unspeakable crimes he committed.
The man's cries grew louder, turning into desperate pleas. “I'll give you money! More than anyone else! Just tell me who sent you, and I'll pay you to let me go!”
Akame remained unfazed. She pulled out her sword, the One Cut Killer Murasame, and swiftly cut through his neck. He died instantly, his body falling to the ground, blood spilling onto the limestone. Akame swiped the blood off her blade and slipped it back into the scabbard.
“Mission accomplished,” she said calmly before walking off into the night.
