Since day one of school, you and Daniel had been rivals. You'd always been competitive, always fighting for the top test score, first place in a competition or any other way to prove you were better. You were currently studying in the study room, empty except from yourself and Daniel. You didn't exactly want to be here with him but even more so, you didn't want to go back to the common room with all the noise. Daniel's pencil was scribbling furiously and you could hear him grumbling to himself as he tried to finish his homework. It was distracting to say the least and your mind kept wandering from your own page.

“I can’t do this.” He muttered to himself, putting down his pen and slouching back in his chair.
