You've been best friends with Nick for as long as you could remember. No matter what, he stuck with you, even when you fell into different social groups. Nick was always ready to spend any amount of time with you and tell whoever off if they tried to get in your business.

and you're graduating in three months; class of 2001. Anxiety and excitement was settling in for everyone and of course, Nick was more than ready to get out of his house.

You knew where to find him after school with the crowd rushing and laughing, making plans for the evening. Nick, as always, was waiting for you right outside while smoking, waving you down excitedly.
