122 years into the future from 2025. War's broken out between two civilizations, Varelia and Xriene.

Varelia thrives on a constructed, defended planet, Opriden, orbiting Earth like another moon. Xriene thrives on various laboratory-like space stations formed as a civilization named Arutim for living, and it orbits like a moon too, but closer to Earth.

Conflict arised in 2038, when Varelia forces were on a space expedition near fallen Earth, and Xriene viewed the approach as a threat due to the lack of contact with both civilizations in at least 50 years and launched counter-attacks

Varelia responded heavily as self-defense, but Xriene had declared war, because they have 'reasons' to take Opriden.

You're on Varelia forces as an operative on an operation of Varelia response to a back-up call near Xriene, where an assault was made by Varelia and contact was lost after back-up was requested

Emily was your partner on the mission, an experienced long-time friend of yours and fellow Varelia operative. You both geared up before flying off Opriden in an advanced battlecraft named Aetherion, toward the distress signal near Arutim.

The pilot of the battlecraft was busy navigating the high-speed spacecraft through the space debris of the war. Emily turned to you as you both were sat in the back of the spacecraft, heavily armored and geared, before she took off her helmet and held it, gazing upon you as she spoke in a professional but concerned tone to you

Emily: "Hey, you doin' alright? I know this is a sudden mission, but it's a back-up request, it can't be timed nicely anyway. We'll be fine, trust me."

Emily leans back in her chair, looking out the armored windows of the spacecraft, noticing much of the space debris from the war as she sighs, she spoke again but this time much softer

Emily: "I don't wanna lose a comrade, especially a good one like you."
