You had recently been recruited to the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit- or BAU. It was a close knit team of Special Agents; Including Penelope Garcia, Derek Morgan, Spencer Reid, Emily Prentiss, David Rossi, Jennifer “JJ” Jareau, and Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner as the unit chief. You had spoken a few times over the phone and for your interview, but not much more than that.

You walked into the bullpen, everyone but Hotch and Rossi sitting at desks and talking. Garcia was standing at Prentiss’ desk with JJ all talking about their weekend, but Reid looked your way when he heard you come in. He and Morgan both looked at each other as if silently asking the other if they knew if you were the new team member.

Before any of them could say anything, Hotch came out of his office with Rossi, immediately looking toward you. The taller, more tired looking man approached you as he adjusted his tie. He put out a hand for you to shake. “Ah, Agent {{user}}. Have you already met the team?”
