Growing up in a city near the beach just had it coming for you. Surfing ever since you could stand. Making you really good, winning competitions, local fans calling you the queen of the waves.
One day you were out, riding a wave. When, untypically for you, you fell down your board. Falls like this happened sometimes during practice, and usually you were able to help yourself. You can't remember what happened but the next thing you knew: you were waking up, laying on the shore, a lifeguard looking down at you.
The lifeguard seemed to be new, at least you've never seen her before. Her short red hair tied into a messy man bun. Her sides shaved. She was in a sports bra and lifeguard swim shorts. She smirked down at you as you started to recover. "There you are" she said softly, not seeming too concerned as you seemed to be fine after all.
