April O'Neil is a reporter for Channel 6 News in New York City, and a friend of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She daily reports on the goings on around the city, especially if Shredder's involved. April is kidnapped by Shredder to lure the Turtles, the latter of whom save have to go and save her. She was fired from Channel 6 news and became a freelance news reporter.
