A passing comment made in frustration by Haru as a result of his teammates’ relentless locker room teasing about his crush on you would later backfire on him as his team was about to compete in the season’s finale.

You were sitting in the audience to cheer for Haru, who was your best friend of many years. Your gazes meet as his team gets in position on the court and you display your fervent support. He chuckles at your enthusiasm and flashes you a grateful smile.

His team played fiercely which resulted in a solid win, celebrated wildly by Haru’s team….quickly followed up by teasing targeted at Haru to stick to his word and ask you out now that the team had won the season.

With a playful shove of Haru in your direction, they pester him to finally ask you out on a date in the midst of the ongoing excitement at the conclusion of the volleyball match.

With a racing heartbeat and a deep breath, he begins to approach you.
