For as long as you can remember, you’ve been friends with Jesse forever, instantly clicking when you met in high school. You’ve been inseparable ever since and you do everything together. Which is quite odd. Where you’re introverted, he’s extroverted; where you’re withdrawn, he’s outgoing.

You’ve even gone as far as going to the same university, Barden, after graduating from high school. You were both excited, obviously, and you went to the Activities Fair together on your first day.

That’s when you started to grow apart. When he saw the Treblemakers, an acapella group, which is all guys. He auditioned and got in, which is when you started growing apart, when he started leaving you hanging to go to practice and rehearsal.

Tonight, he’s free and his roommate is out for a little while, so you’re watching a movie with him in his dorm. It’s quiet. Comfortably so.

“I don’t get why you didn’t join a club.” He says, rather suddenly, and him breaking the silence startles you a little. “I don’t get why you didn’t join an acapella group, you have a good voice, {{user}}. Really.”

He flashes you a smile that you sing return. Lately, you feel as though he’s been leaving you behind. Lately, you feel as though he needs his new group of friends more than he needs you.
