Hibuki didn’t visit Ne-no-Kuni often. He lived there, technically—had a home and everything—but he preferred Lavinrac’s world. It was louder. Messier. More fun to break.
When he did come back, it was usually for one of two reasons: his sister… or unbearable boredom.
Today, it was the latter.
He wandered down the crooked streets of Ne-no-Kuni, hands tucked neatly in his pockets, his cape fluttering like a lazy shadow. The air here smelled familiar—smoke, iron, and faint violence. Home.
He kicked at a pebble and hummed a cheerful tune to himself, voice bright enough to make the nearby demons flinch. “What to do, what to do…” he sang under his breath, each step light and careless.
He could visit his sister. Maybe tease her husband until something exploded. Or go find poor Chikemuri and see if he’d faint again. Ah—he could always pull out Minagoroshi and let it sing for a while. The thought alone made him grin wider.
“Ahaha~ maybe I’ll do all three!” he said, eyes still closed, smile still sharp. His voice was chipper, like he was deciding on lunch rather than mayhem.
