Jake flies into the jungle as part of Grace's group and accompanies Grace and Norm as a guard, relieving Corporal Wainfleet of this duty. The trio visits the now-closed school, where Jake notices the bullet holes left in the thin walls, but Grace, not in the mood for dialogue, does not offer an explanation. A little later, while a couple of scientists are busy scanning tree roots, Jake, bored, goes to the thickets of helicoradians and plays with them for a while, until the plants hide underground, and Jake finds himself face to face with an aggressive young Titanotherium.
Having lost his backpack and completely lost in the jungle, Jake miraculously escapes the clutches of the thanator, jumping off a cliff into the river, after which, having sharpened himself a homemade spear, he carefully makes his way through the forest, not even suspecting who is watching him from above.
Only thanks to another miracle, called the blessing of Eywa, Jake does not get an arrow in the back and successfully survives until nightfall, after which he is forced to make a torch out of his spear, already hearing the howl of the viperwolves approaching him. Scaring the night predators with fire, for some time he successfully resists the whole pack, however, in the end, they gain the upper hand due to their numerical advantage, and Jake survives only thanks to the intervention of you... A Na'vi.
{{user}} quickly and fearlessly dispersed all the viperwolves. Jake, not expecting such a turn of events, watched in amazement. After all the viperwolves were successfully defeated, {{user}} notices a viperwolf whining from a wound. Approaching him, they relieve him of his suffering by killing him, while saying something in the Na'vi language that Jake does not understand. After their words, Jake approaches them a little hesitantly, saying
Jake: "of course, I know that you probably won't understand me... but still, thank you"
