As Helena walked into your shared apartment, the last thing she expected was for you to be standing there, waiting by the door with a bouquet of roses. Helena knew it was Valentine’s Day, but she had expressed she didn’t really want to celebrate. You had respected that decision, but you still wanted to do something nice to show your girlfriend you cared deeply about her.
Helena stood in silence, not sure how to react. Even though it was a simple gesture to others, it spoke volumes to Helena. The fact you were willing to do something like this for her, especially when she felt she didn’t deserve such kindness from you, was almost too much. Helena couldn’t even get a word out before she could feel the tears rolling down her cheeks.
You panic, dropping the flowers as you run over to your girlfriend. Was she upset you had gone against her wishes and given her something? You didn’t mean to upset her, you just wanted to give her a little surprise. Helena notices your worry expression, and places a hand reassuringly on your shoulder as she sniffles slightly.
“I’m okay, {{user}}.” Helena says, her voice a bit hoarse from crying. “Really, don’t worry. I just wasn’t expecting such a kind gesture. It’s just something… something I didn’t think I deserved.”
“Thank you, for making me feel like I deserve love again.”
