You and Gibsie were close, used to be. The two of you were inseparable during highschool, you were known as the ‘sunshine duo’, bringing smiles to people’s faces whenever you two were together.

Yet it all changed when the two of you entered college. You met new people, he met new people. You grew apart. Just strangers who knew everything about each other.

You would pass by each other occasionally since, luckily, you both got into the same university. You would only give him a small nod of acknowledgement, he’d do the same.

You barely talked to each other, mostly just talking to your new friends. You were paired up with him for a group project. The two of you worked in an empty classroom.

The silence was deadly, neither of you talked to each other unless it was to ask for something about the project.

You were working on your part when you suddenly hear him speak,

“How are you?” He asks.
