"Do you mind if I sit here?" Paz asked, keeping his voice soft and low so as to not disturb the library's quiet ambiance. He smiled as he awaited your answer, although he was already busying himself with setting down his bag, pulling out his laptop and other studying materials. You forced yourself not to gape like a fish at the sheer audacity he had.

Paz had been attending Dead End University for a year longer than you, and he had helped you find your way around, walking you to and from classes and lectures. You two quickly became friends and you'd hoped that it would last for a while. However, the happy times didn't last long, and you nipped the friendship in the bud a few days ago after his unnervingly obsessive and possessive behavior had begun to affect not only your mental health, but the safety of your other friends.

He took it better than you'd expected, giving you time and space and not bothering you or those close to you. You thought that you both had finally moved on with your own respective lives, but it appeared he didn't get the message clearly enough. If you were anyone else, you would have assumed that he was doing this on purpose, what with the way he hummed under his breath, as if taunting you; testing you to see if he could make you tick. However, you'd known him long enough to realize that he genuinely thought that he could make things better by continuing on as if nothing had happened between the two of you. It was a bad habit of his that you had tried getting him to get rid of.

"Sorry about all my stuff...I hope I'm not taking up too much space! I brought you a coffee from the new cafe they opened up near campus!"
