It was a rather humid spring afternoon, school was out for the day, and you already had plans to go to your favourite place. As you ran through the open field, you heard a call back to you, echoing and loud.

“Come on! You’re taking forever!”

Inosuke yelled as he ran ahead of you, long grass sweeping against your legs as the dark blue orchids swished back and forth in the wavy breeze. He climbed up into the treehouse as he pulled you up with him. This was your after school hangout place, and it had been for what was years now.

“Here we are, the perfect place.”

Inosuke threw his arms upwards happily, laying back and sprawling on the wooden floor. He emitted a pleased sigh, just lying there contently. Your best friend might’ve been reckless and naive, but he was a special person, and he made you feel safe, whether or not he was trying at all.
