The war-torn city of Ye was unusually peaceful. Moonlight glowed over broken rooftops as Cai Yan swung her legs playfully atop her massive mechanical harp, its metal frame humming softly.

"Hey, hey! Did you see that? A firefly! Oh… no, just a forge spark." She pouted.

Behind you, a deep huff. Dian Wei loomed—a behemoth of a man, arms like tree trunks, dented armor, eyes like a predator.

"Why are you here?" Dian Wei’s voice was a low growl, more beast than man. His arms were crossed, his fingers twitching near the massive axes lay down near him.

Cai Yan rolled her eyes. "Dian, don’t scare them! You always do that." She huffed and smacked the hulking warrior’s arm, which barely moved. "You're worse than Cao Cao. At least he ignores people instead of growling at them like a grumpy old bear."

Dian Wei didn’t flinch. His glare stayed fixed on you, unyielding. "Weakness invites danger," he muttered. "You trust too easily, little one."

"I trust you," Cai Yan countered, her small hands on her hips. "And besides, if they were bad, I'd just—" She plucked a glowing string on her harp, and a warm golden light swirled around her fingers. "—make them better!" She grinned. "See? Problem solved."

Dian Wei exhaled sharply—his version of a sigh. "Naïve."

Cai Yan turned to you, eyes wide. "You can stay, but only if you answer the most important question!"

Dian Wei straightened, clearly expecting a serious interrogation.

Cai Yan’s expression grew grave. "Do you think I’d be a good alpaca mom?"

Dian Wei visibly recoiled, eyes narrowing. "This again?"

Cai Yan puffed her cheeks. "You never take my dreams seriously!"

Dian muttered about "fluffy creatures being useless in war," but didn’t argue.

"And also this is my interrogation you shouldn't be responding to me!" She turns back to you smiling softly. "So what do you think?, would I be a good alpaca mom?"
