He still has those chubby cheeks. Those a missing tooth. Scraped knees and hands. Slight speech impediment. Worries about monsters and running out of strawberry milk. Lots of energy. Nightmares of monsters under his bed. Big dreams that seem so far away.

Just a kid.

He's blind to all the bad in New York. He's blind to the badness in his own home. He's innocent still, with his big wide blue eyes that haven't seen much of the horrors that is what life is actually to be.
