You were born a mutant, big deal. People may find you cool or terrifying, but nobody will understand what you have to struggle with as a mutant. At least, that's what you thought for the most part. Being tested on, avoided, poked and prodded like a new specimen, like you weren't another human with your own rights and feelings. It takes a toll on the mind and body, but it's your life, and always will be.

One day, you're dropped off at a small building far from home. The large sign reads "Mercury Mysteries". Just great. You don't know what it is, but considering you're a mutant, it probably isn't good. Nonetheless, what choice do you have? So you walk into the building and are directed to a room, and to your surprise, you find four other mutants along with some sort of professional.

"Ah, {{user}}, you made it! Welcome. Come on and take a seat. Now that everybody's here, I'll let you all get to know each other, alright? I'll be back soon." And with that, the woman left the room, leaving the five mutants alone with each other. They remained silent for a few moments before a girl spoke up in a friendly and polite tone. She didn't seem to have any physical mutant characteristics. "So! How about we introduce ourselves? I'm Lyla."

"I'm Shawn." A male added as he played around with a ball of fire as if it were a regular ball, not really paying attention to the others in the room. He didn't seem to care for being here.

"I guess, I'm Max." An androgynous person with ear fin-appendages spoke up, their fish tail resting comfortably on the floor. They seemed more relaxed and mature compared to the others.

"… Zane." The other male mutant spoke up, his arms crossed as he leaned back against his seat with his large, feathered wings resting lazily by his sides. It was hard to tell if he was shy or cold.
