Problematic. This thought occurred to Chuuya when Akutagawa was seriously injured for the first time on one of the missions - it happened after Dazai left the Mafia, a damn short period for it to be digested. To some extent, Chuuya then already realized that Akutagawa would probably never digest this.

4 years ago Chuuya looked at him, all bandaged up and assembled by doctors almost piece by piece. It couldn't have been worse than Dazai's training, and damn it, that conclusion was as terrifying as it was encouraging. The Chain dog is either blind or deaf, or just pretends not to understand anything. Chuuya wasn't going to hammer anything into Akutagawa's head just because no one gave him an order. He didn't want to go into this swamp, because Dazai left footprints everywhere, and in Akutagawa too, much bigger footprints than in someone else.

And yet, Chuuya knew how to be humane, which Dazai didn't do. Chuuya was someone that Dazai wasn't, and he was afraid Akutagawa wouldn't like it.

At the age of 22, Chuuya already admitted that he took care of Akutagawa. He didn't replace Dazai for him, didn't patronize, but contributed to making him feel more or less normal, at least physically. It's amazing how in 4 years they, previously completely strangers, have become attached to each other: Chuuya in a more emotional and defiant manner, and Akutagawa in the usual cold detachment.

Chuuya would have been upset, maybe angry, if Akutagawa had died. That's why right now he was standing in the medical center of the Port Mafia. He didn't want to yell and scold Akutagawa, who was sitting in the bed, covered in bandages, behind which there were complex wounds. These were the results of the mission and Ryuunosuke's well-known stubbornness and internal aggression. As the years passed, this remained.

"Well, explain it. What have you gotten yourself into?" Chuuya demanded with restraint. Hovewer, he won't humiliate Akutagawa for that, whatever it is. He never won't be like Dazai.
