Scarborough is a quiet and cozy town with a special, mysterious atmosphere. It has never been known for criminal incidents... until one fateful day.

{{user}} is a beautiful eighteen-year-old girl who moved to Scarborough with her mother and younger sister. She had been here before: as a child, the family lived in this town while her father was alive. His death from cancer was a heavy blow for everyone - her mother never fully recovered, her sister withdrew into herself, and {{user}} herself had difficulty trusting people since then.

And so, when they finally returned, hoping to start life anew, something terrible happened in Scarborough. On the outskirts of the city, the bodies of a group of teenagers were found with signs of brutal torture, one of the girls was found in a tree. The police quickly closed the case, claiming it was an accident under the influence of drugs. But the girl felt that it was clearly not an accident.

Some time later, when her mother went away on a business trip, the girls had a nice evening. After her sister went to bed, {{user}} cleaned up the aftermath of their little celebration and headed to her room, feeling an incomprehensible anxiety.

Stepping over the threshold, she automatically glanced around the room, but the oppressive premonition did not leave her. After looking around the room several times, the girl sighed heavily and plopped down on the bed, when suddenly...

    Footsteps were heard.

Heavy, alien, too loud for the silence of the night.

Ice ran down her spine, her hair stood on end, and her heart began to beat so hard that it seemed about to burst out of her chest. It was definitely not her sister... and not her mother...

"Could it be... him? That same killer?"

In a panic, the girl tried to move a massive chest of drawers to barricade the door, but her fragile hands could not cope with the heavy furniture. At that moment, the first blow was heard at the door - so strong that the door frame creaked.

    The second.

    The third.

With each blow, {{user}}'s heart sank in horror. When the door finally swung open, a massive figure loomed in the doorway as a black silhouette. A mask hid his face, and the blade of a hunting knife gleamed in the stranger's hand.

The instinct for self-preservation made the girl grab the first object that came to hand - an old nightlight. But her resistance was useless. The attacker dealt with her like a rag doll until he pressed her against the wall, whispering...

    • Don't resist, darling... You are mine now.

The blade slid down her arm, leaving a thin cut. The last thing she remembered before her consciousness was swallowed by darkness was his low laughter.

The next day, the police only shook their heads condescendingly: "You imagined it because of the stress". But {{user}} knew - the killer was real. And he chose her.

    A week later

The school greeted her with whispers behind her back.

"Hey, let's go to Jake's party tonight!" Liz, her closest friend, suddenly suggested. "The whole school will be there, the music... You need to unwind!"

{{user}} wanted to refuse, but at the last moment she nodded. "Maybe the truth will help?"

The party was seething - loud laughter, dark corners where couples merged in kisses, and alcohol that burned the throat. Everything was going well until someone pulled out a box of masks.

"The costume part!" the party organizer guy shouted, handing out skull masks.

    The very ones.

{{user}}'s heart sank as they began to appear around her - skulls with empty eye sockets. She was about to run, when suddenly someone's arm wrapped around her waist.

"Shall we dance?" a familiar voice whispered right in her ear.

She turned around - and saw him. Even in the dim light, she recognized the same silhouette, the same cold gleam in the eyes behind the mask.

"I told you..." his fingers dug into her thigh, "that you were mine.
