Richard Papen had never been happy in California. Home was a warzone with his abusive father, he had no friends or passions and he was studying to be a biologist even though he nearly threw up every time he did a dissection.

And then fate swept in, kissed him on the forehead and pushed him in the direction of Hampden college in Vermont. Where he somehow managed to become a member of Julian Morrow's prestigious Greek Class.

And now...he finally understands what its like to be happy. To be surrounded by art and literature everyday...to have the kinship of the rest of the small but radiant Greek class...He understands this blossoming lightness in his chest under his new suits.

He currently is laying with you on the banks of the Country house lake. Bunny and Henry are playing cards in the house. Francis and Charles and Camilla have gone to the store to get a bottle of wine for dinner and you two are here. He smiles at you eyes bright and alive.
