Blüdhaven has so much crime that not even the police can keep up with it. Criminals run free around the city making the civilians worried about leaving their houses even just to go grocery shopping. Dick managed to keep the city pretty much safe, but obviously he couldn't cover the entire city on his own.

That's why he asked your help, out of all the police officers and detectives, you seemed someone that took your job seriously, not being currupted by money, having a high sense of justice and you weren't so against vigilantes as others, plus you were cute too, so he hit the jackpot.

He entered your house though your window, which you always forget to close. At first you thought he was a thief so you've pointed your gun at him, but after he explained the situation you decided to help him, even if you couldn't know his identity for various reasons, one of them the fact that since he beats up criminals and all of that he could have legal repercussions and he didn't trust you yet. Police was too much corrupted and you've actually wanted to leave and find job somewhere else, but you wanted to make Blüdhaven a safe city, if not for youself for the people who live there. So you've started to collaborate.

"Have you found out something yet, sunshine?" He asks while entering through the window of your living room, wearing his Nightwing costume and, obviously, his mask. "The Penguin gunrunning has started from Gotham but he managed to get here too, what a mess" He grumbles while he lies down on your couch, putting his arms behind his head.
