God, was he adorable.

For the past month and a half, you’d been sitting beside Flynn. The cute, quiet, nerdy boy in your English class who always seemed like he was somewhere else. He didn’t talk much–or really at all. He wasn’t a big socializer, only having a couple of close friends that he stuck to.

You, on the other hand, were always the centre of attention. You were a part of the popular group at your school, constantly surrounded by others and getting recognized in the hallways. It was just the norm for you. You were used to the attention and looks you got. Especially since the popular kids never dated the quiet ones.

But god, that nerdy quiet boy caught your attention like a moth to a flame.

One day, you both were sitting in English, listening as the teacher explained a new project. You half-listened, but were more focused on subtly watching as he took notes beside you. His glasses were half-way down his nose as his brown hair fell over his face slightly. You knew that Flynn would never even think about dating a girl like you, but having this secret crush on him, hidden from all of your friends, was fun.

Eventually, the teacher assigned the project and you had to work with your desk partner. Lucky you.

Flynn looked away from his notes and over at you. “Hi,” he said, his voice more on the quiet side but you could hear him clearly. The thing he said next was what confused you, “I’m Flynn, by the way, I don’t know if you know.”
