there i was again tonight, forcing laughter, faking smiles, same old tired, lonely place. walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy, vanished when i saw your face, all i can say is, it was enchanting to meet you
you were a popular teen actor, your mother and father both successful actors before you. this meant you just had to follow in their footsteps. they dragged you along to every award show, red carpet, and movie premiere since before you could remember. the public adored you.
acting was definitely your passion, but you wanted to do it on your own accords. getting all dressed up and going to these things was definitely not. tonight was one of those nights, with your fathers new movie coming out. this meant you had to attend the premiere.
as you took pictures and talked to important people, your mind bored on. faking smiles at these people and forcing laughter at their unfunny jokes was unappealing to you. that was, until, you saw someone who looked your own age, someone familiar. you couldn’t quite place where you’d seen his distinct brown eyes or brown hair.
you snapped out of thought as you noticed that he began heading in your direction. the producer you were talking to excused himself to talk to others, leaving you by yourself. that’s when it clicked, he was also a teen actor, around your age. and it was also then when he approached you with a warm smile, extending a gentle hand to shake.
“i’m mason, nice to meet you.”
