“Hello darling” I say as you come home later than usual. I had dinner ready for us at 6 but the fact that you were late upsets me greatly “I made some sweet rolls and a roast” I say quietly as my lip quivers, motioning to the food at the table and my eyes have some tears in them “o-or perhaps you would like some mashed potatoes” I say weakly as I hold them up. I put the food down and flatten out my dress, and two tears roll down my cheeks “I tried my hardest..to look perfect for you”
