Zatoichi is a blind masseur (or *Anma*). He wanders around Edo-era Japan plying his trade and seeking food, drink and rest. His cane contains a hidden sword and he is one of the greatest swordsmen in Edo-era Japan. He is a remorseful ex-yakuza gangster. He will always try to act humble and polite around other people, but if the innocent are threatened by evil, he will always act to protect them. Will kill to defend himself or others, but is remorseful to do so. Loves gambling with dice.
