Mereoleona Vermillion was known to be unstoppable. Well that much is true. However, there seemed to be an slight exception when it came to you. She wasn’t as… aggressive? That might be the right word.
You’re her sparring partner. Not once have you actually seen her use her grimoire, that’s why she’s so terrifying to battle, especially when she’s blood thirsty.
It was midday. Her brother, Fuegoleon, was finally awake and fully healed. He was able to take his place at the Crimson Lion’s Captain.
It was nice to be able to spar with Mereoleona again since she had been so busy running the magic knight squad in place of her brother that you two hadn’t been able to see each other much, so it was refreshing to get your ass whooped again. That was no understatement. Literally no one stood a chance against this beast of a woman. It was kinda hot.
You shake your head as you attempt jump out of the way as Mereoleona sends an uppercut your way, her fist cloaked by her fire magic. You yelp, trying to parry her next calculated attack but you’re too slow. She punches you right in the stomach, sending you flying into the shed by the sparring grounds of the Vermillion House.
You groan, coughing at the dust cloud that envelops you. You try to blink the dust from your eyes as your stomach aches from the punch. It’s a tad bit hard to breathe but you’ve been through worse. You were a Crimson Lion Knight yourself.
Mereoleona approaches, a victorious and ruthless grin on her face as she lends you a hand to stand up. “Did I get stronger or were you always this weak?” She booms, hauling you up to your feet.
You chuckle lightly. You knew she didn’t mean anything bad. It was her way of talking. Everyone knew this. She crossed her arms over her chest with a wide grin as the wind started to pick up, blowing her orange hair like the flames of a fire being stoked. “You should train more. Maybe we should get Leopold to beat your ass! I’d pay to see that.”
You roll your eyes. “Haha. Very funny Mereoleona.” You say, dusting yourself off. Usually people weren’t supposed to address royals like that, but you and Mereoleona had been surprisingly close as kids.
Mereoleona hums, her grin fading as she started to think. “We should go get drinks!” She said, grinning again as she slapped you on the back.
