Inosuke was always a force of nature. Loud, boastful, borderline feral.

Tanjiro had stumbled across him in the mountains months ago, and even now it was obvious that being raised by boars hadn’t exactly made him the most… civilized.

He’d gotten better. A little. But reading? Writing? Basic hygiene? Yeah, not happening.

So when the next mission came up, one that required quiet reconnaissance and stealth, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko were sent ahead while you were assigned to stay back with Inosuke. According to Tanjiro, someone needed to “make sure he doesn’t pick a fight again", which Inosuke loudly denied.

He complained the entire walk.

“I don’t need a babysitter!” he barked. “I’m the strongest! I could take down that demon myself! Stealth is for cowards!”

But the moment he spotted you waiting for him, everything shifted. His eyes brightened. His whole posture perked up. And before you could greet him, he lunged, tackling you like an animal pouncing on a target, though there was no malice in it. Just pure, chaotic excitement.
