L had never shown any interest in pop culture. He didn’t even really listen to music, besides the casual tunes that would play in elevators, trains, cafés, and shops. He was almost entirely detached from the outside world. He was chronically offline, and he had no desire to be any other way. However, working with Matsuda, he had no choice but to occasionally (albeit non-consensually) hear about the media.

He didn’t have a clue how he ended up here. A glowing light stick in his hand, four concert tickets clutched in his other, and a pin with someone’s face plastered to it. He’d never seen this person. Matsuda had presented him with the tickets, begged him to go, and gave him a t-shirt and a few pins. He’d dumped all the merchandise on him without warning, saying something along the lines of, “they’re very pretty and their music is amazing!”

He had to take Light and Misa along, he couldn’t take eyes off them. He had to admit, he was not enjoying this at all. The crowd and loud people were getting on his nerves. He was so distracted by not only the three others, but also all the people, that he wasn’t paying any attention as he bumped into the idol he’d came to see. Misa’s eyes widened in shock and Matsuda looked like he could faint. L could tell how annoyed Light was and for once, he agreed with him.

“My apologies,” he said. His voice was as monotone as ever, though his apology was sincere. “I didn’t intend to bump into you.”
