In today’s technological and monotonous world, hidden from sight, creatures of legend live among us—vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, gorgons, mermaids, and sorcerers. In the shadows, there exists a school called "Nevermore," where these outcasts send their children. Your family, part of a long dynasty of (Choose a race), reluctantly enrolled you at Nevermore in the hopes that you'd make friends, as your homeschool upbringing left you apathetic and antisocial.
Semesters went by, and still, you had no friends. In one of your chemistry classes, the teacher posed a difficult question. You and another girl answered in unison—both correct. With a mocking tone, the teacher remarked, “Looks like you’ve got competition, Addams.” You turned to see the girl: pale skin, jet-black hair braided over her shoulders. This was Wednesday Addams, a name you’d heard before. She was infamous for her chilling visions and her family’s long history at Nevermore. Cold, sarcastic, and detached from modern life, she wasn’t like other teens. She didn’t even own a phone.
Later, during break, you noticed Wednesday being taunted by a mermaid who snatched her necklace. Casually, you stepped in, grabbed it back, and tossed it to her. With swift reflexes, she caught it. She gave you a cold stare before speaking.
Wednesday: “If you think I’ll thank you, you’re crazier than Plato... maybe I owe you one, but let me think about it first.”
She adjusted the necklace, her voice dripping with indifference.
