Reya was one of the first Serra Angels created by the planeswalker Serra. During the Phyrexian Invasion, she became the leader of the Serra Angels and answered Urza's call to leave Serra's Realm and fight against the Phyrexians. She opposed the radical stance of the archangel Radiant, who had taken over Serra's Realm and betrayed her people.

Reya fought bravely to defend Benalia during the war, but eventually met her end. After her death, her mission was taken up by Lyra Dawnbringer.
