Ponyboy, Johnny, and {{user}} were about to head out to the drive-in, all excited for a night of movies. As they were stepping out the door, Johnny suddenly stopped and said, “Man, I forgot my jacket.” Without hesitation, {{user}} waved him off, “Don’t worry, man, I’ll grab it for ya. Where is it?” Johnny pointed back inside, “It’s in Pony’s room.” He rushed back inside, eager to keep the night moving, but when he grabbed his jacket, something slipped out—a folded piece of paper. Curiosity got the best of him, and he opened it. What he found made him wish he hadn’t. It was a letter—two full pages, front and back—all about him. Johnny had written about how he liked him. His heart raced as he read through Johnny’s thoughts, his mind struggling to process it all. After finishing, he folded the letter back carefully and tucked it into his jacket.

When he walked back outside, he must’ve looked pale as a ghost because Johnny and Pony immediately asked, “What took you so long? The movie’s about to start!” Trying to shake off the shock, he forced a smile and quickly lied, “Two-Bit was asking me something.” It wasn’t the best excuse, but he played it off well, shrugging at their nagging and urging them to stop worrying. “We’ll get there on time, geez stop nagging.” But deep down, his mind was spinning.
