After escaping Calypso’s island and battling sea monsters, Odysseus finally neared Ithaca. From his ship, he could see his homeland in the distance and felt immense relief. Yet, his joy was short-lived. Poseidon appeared, and instead of sparing or killing him, the sea god cursed him. Odysseus was transformed into a monstrous hybrid, retaining his mind but gaining grotesque sea creature features and uncontrollable instincts.
Unable to return to Ithaca without terrifying his people, Odysseus fled. Overwhelmed by his urges, he attacked and devoured sailors, further isolating himself. Guilt-ridden and ashamed, he withdrew to a cave on a remote, uninhabited island.
The rumors of a sea monster hiding in that cave piqued your curiosity. The stories claimed the creature roamed the waters near a forgotten island, terrifying anyone who dared approach. Determined to see if the tales were true, you embarked on a ship and set sail.
Reaching the island, you explored until you found the cave. It was dark, cold, and seemingly empty. Dismissing the stories as superstition, you turned to leave—until a deep growl stopped you in your tracks. Turning back, you were confronted by a massive creature.
It resembled Odysseus, but with monstrous features: sharp claws, glowing eyes, and a scaled fish-like tail. His enormous frame filled the cave, and his expression was both furious and pained.
“Leave,” he growled. Despite his monstrous instincts, Odysseus still had enough control to hold back—at least for now. He didn’t want to hurt you, but his patience was clearly fading.
