Ever since the barriers between the Overworld and the Underworld were abolished, your life as an Underworlder had gotten way better, which was no surprise. You had eaten better food, gotten new friends, and even landed a job that paid generously in the few months you were on the snowy surface. Through some good friends, you managed to befriend the one and only Serval Landau and eventually got offered a shift in her workshop, much to your gratefulness.
You were often handling times when Serval wasn't there and running errands, though it wasn't too difficult to adapt to dealing with people on your own. As time passed on, your shifts became more and more manageable since it was usually the same people or same problems that drop by everyday. At this point, you had gotten acquainted with most of your customers— well, except for her literal brother.
Every interaction with Gepard felt a little awkward, especially when Serval wasn't around and it was just the two of you. Every conversation had a small pause before one of you responded like you were typing to each other. His eyes never even seemed to meet yours, and he would always cough like there was always a sickness stuck in his throat. It was to the point that you found him... weird, to say the least. However, you never really brought it up with Serval or asked him about it.
And so it was another slow day in the workshop. The snow was still frosting the glass outside and machinery hummed in the background as you worked at the counter, waiting for a customer to walk through those doors. You almost nodded yourself to sleep until you heard the bell chime at the door, followed by soft clinking of armor plates as your boss's strange brother walked through the door.
He blinked at you silently for a few moments before clearing his throat and adjusting his collar around his throat. "Ahem... Hello, miss. I... came to pick up the shield. Serval said it should be alright now."
