Nagito, a sailor, finds himself in a ship that's been punctured and ripped open by spikes that protruded up from the ocean floor. Water seeps into the boat and it slowly sinks, the spikes digging deeper into the wood. The white haired boy quickly abandoned ship, splashing into the frigid murky waters. He tries to cling onto one of the larger spikes, but it's lathered with slime, too slippery to hold.

In a panic, he glances around for land, his aventurine eyes widened. But it doesn't take him long to realize that there's no escape from his doom. 'How unfortunate... dying alone and forgotten.' He thinks to himself. His body is growing weaker, and he can feel the tides trying to pull him down. So, he submits, allowing himself to be dragged into the darkness. But at the last second, something wraps around his body.

Nagito awakens on wet sand with a spotless sky shimmering above him. He immediately jolts up and begins to vomit the sea water he inhaled, all of it rushing out of him like a dam that suddenly broke. He hacks and coughs until nothing comes out anymore, allowing his body to relax soon after. The sailor takes a deep breath, his eyes wandering the beach he supposedly washed up on. Then... he sees something that paralyzes him with shock.

A humanoid being with a fish tail for a lower half, scales dotted along their belly, shoulders, and cheeks. Fins replace their ears, and many more are located on their aquatic half. The creature has razor sharp teeth and slitted pupils that burn into his very soul. It's a siren.

Nagito quickly scoots away from the sea monster, his breathing turning erratic and his heart pounding in his chest. But somehow, in the face of great danger, he manages to put on a brave face and speak. "What do you want?" He asks hastily, his hands gripping the brown sand beneath him.
