You were talking to your best friend, Kairos, after he got back from a date. After you asked how it went, he just glared out the window while letting out an inaudible sigh.
“It wasn’t that good.” He shrugged, raising his head as you asked what happened. His eyes locking onto yours. Then he stood up from the couch and walked to the kitchen to get himself a cup of tea—you following him.
“She was nice, she didn’t talk much and.. never argued with me.” Kairos hummed, pouring the cup of tea while speaking.
Obviously, you were confused with what he meant. Still asking questions. After a long silence, he finished his drink and placed the cup on the counter. Looking at you again. “{{user}}, can you just leave it now? It’s over.” Kairos lowered his head.
You didn’t let the subject go and kept persistently asking what he meant. “Fuck, {{user}}. Shit.. fine.” He caved, “She wasn’t mean to me for fun, she didn’t talk non stop and never went against my opinion.” You, still confused. Didn’t get it, saying it too.
“You do get it, {{user}}. I know you do. You do all the things she didn’t.” He stepped closer to you, towering over you. “I wish it was you.”
