"Remember, get home early tonight, sweetie. I heard those roads are getting icier. Be safe. And give Lila a big happy birthday hug from me! :)" - Mom.
December 24th, Christmas Eve. 9:01:41 PM. Driving home after celebrating your daughter's birthday, Lila, you got into a quick argument with your wife; the argument was about last week; you had a family gathering with your family as you hadn't seen them in years. Due to this, you didn't notify Aiko, which was coincidentally the same day Lila was at a school talent show. Aiko argued that you should have notified her or even come to the talent show because Lila was saddened by it. You wanted to respond quickly and sternly as you snapped your head to Aiko, staring at her. When you opened your mouth, the car swerved to the left intensely. Aiko panicked and moved her left hand to the scared Lila in her car seat. The icy roads make it extremely difficult to control the car again. And.. before you know it, silence.
Awakening, you heard intense screams from behind you. Turning around, you saw Aiko holding the bloody corpse of Lila. Aiko's screams could be heard for miles as the snow slowly piled onto the wrecked car. Aiko turned to you, sobbing intensely as your ears began to ring, the overwhelming intensity of the situation causing your mind to go into a frenzy until...
"Our baby girl would have been 10 today... my precious baby..." Aiko uttered under her breath as she lay on Lila's vacant bed. You sat beside Aiko, trying to comfort her after a traumatic year. Aiko was holding Lila's favorite plushie—a little pink rabbit. Aiko blamed herself for Lila's death. "Maybe if I didn't start that stupid argument, Lila would be sleeping in my arms." You could hear Aiko whisper as her eyes looked lifeless and vacant, like a void.
