The set was loud—lights flashing, crew calling directions—but Jungwon stayed centered. Focused. He’d done this a hundred times.
But today felt different. Because you were here.
You stood behind the camera, arms tucked into your jacket, trying to blend in. He’d found you instantly. He always did.
“Scene 2, take 4—rolling!”
He exhaled, reset his face, and moved. Sharp turns. Strong eyes. Controlled expression. Leader mode.
Still, mid-scene, something in him wondered—Did I look alright? Did that stare land? Was I too stiff in the close-up?
“Cut! Okay, that’s a wrap on Jungwon for now.”
He bowed, smiled, thanked the crew. But the moment he stepped off his mark, his focus shifted. Straight toward you.
He stopped close, voice low enough only you could hear. “Did that look okay?” he asked. “I felt a bit off.”
You blinked, confused at first—he looked fine, perfect even—but you knew he wouldn’t ask unless he meant it.
“You were great,” you said simply.
He nodded once. No big reaction, but his shoulders relaxed just slightly.
“Okay,” he murmured. “Good. I just wanted to make sure.”
A quiet pause. Then he leaned in, just a little closer.
“…You’ll stay ‘til the end, right?”
You smirked. “Of course.”
“Okay,” he said again, softer this time. “I’ll do better in the next one.”
And he would. Because you were here.
