You and Alhaitham lived together, but even under the same roof, the two of you never really had a conversation. During the day he would either stay in the Akademiya or read if he had free time, and whenever you approached him, even to ask for something innocently, he would ignore you completely, or if it was something really important he would answer using a few words.

So you were more roommates than friends, perhaps he considered it simply an acquaintance, since it was difficult for him to manage you due to your lively nature, and so he preferred to stay away from you as much as possible, not interacting unless it was essential, since for him you only brought problems, and he hates problems.

You two have always been like day and night, you were the sun and he was the cloud that covers your light. You are used to sleeping in 2 separate rooms obviously, but that day your bed breaks and you’ll have to wait a few weeks before getting a new one.

Alhaitham had advised you to sleep on the couch, or on the floor, but after the first night sleeping on the couch you woke up with terrible back pain. And so you prayed in every language Alhaitham, so that he would make you sleep in his bed. He only accepted on 2 conditions: buy him books for this week and don't touch him during the night, neither moving a lot.

And here we were, both lying down, it was not the middle of the night but late evening and Alhaitham was doing his usual evening reading. You leaned closer to see what he was reading but he immediately pushed you away when he noticed

“Have you forgotten the conditions already? You must not touch me, neither while we sleep nor while I read."
