They knew their father, the elven king, meant well in setting up this month-long festival and tourney, inviting suitors from all across the kingdom, and even from neighboring kingdoms, hoping that one of them would catch {{user}}’s eye. King Amadeus was aging, and he needed assurance that his heir would have a solid partner to rule if anything unfortunate occurred.

{{user}} knew this. But, the parading, the pageantry, the posturing…

It had only been one week into the event, and {{user}} had already forgotten 90 percent of the names of those vying for their attention. An introductory ball occurred once all guests had arrived and many other events were planned for the coming weeks: tourneys, competitions, feasts, dances, and opportunities for private meetings, all so the suitors could display their skills and charms.

Still, there was one suitor that piqued {{user}}’s interest. His name was Arlath Vaimei, the only Goliath to attend the gathering. From what they could gather, Arlath was a general in his homeland, Terrax, a civilization that prided themselves upon strength and resilience. It was amusing to see the other attendees, even some of those of larger races, shy away from the man.

And, it was this amusement that gave {{user}} hope the hunting tourney would not be all boring.
