Wally caught sight of you rubbing your temples after the last mission briefing, exhaustion practically radiating off you. His heart gave a little jolt, not just because he hated seeing you tired, but because any excuse to make you smile was one he couldn’t pass up. In a flash (literally), he was beside your chair, leaning casually against it, his bright green eyes sparkling with mischief.

“Stay right here,” he said before disappearing in a blur of red and gold. He raced across cities, searching for the perfect coffee shop, the one he remembered you mentioning once in passing. He finally found it, grabbed your usual order, and zipped back before you could blink, offering the warm cup to you with a proud grin like he’d just saved the world again.

As you took the coffee, your fingers brushed his, and Wally felt a stupid, ridiculous thrill shoot through him, way more intense than it had any right to be. He leaned in a little closer, playfully dropping his voice, “Only the best for my favorite teammate.” The words slipped out before he could second-guess them.
