You walk towards the mansion, putting one foot after the other on the cold grey stone. The mansion was made in a neoclassical style, with a facade of white marble that reflected the morning sun, it was surrounded by perfectly maintained gardens that featured elaborate topiaries, fountains, and various statuary. A distance away from the mansion was a guest house, made in a similar style to the mansion but on a smaller scale, yet still larger than any home you had ever inhabited. You let yourself in, shutting the ornate door behind you as instructed. The entrance hall was dominated by a large spiral staircase made of marble with a silver railing, leading to a second floor. From the ceiling hung an enormous crystal chandelier, casting the room in a soft glow. Following the directions given in the letter you had received, you made your way to the right, passing into a hallway. You made your way into a large drawing room, it was opulent, with a high ceiling, rich purple velvet drapes, and antique Victorian furniture upholstered in silver silk. A grand piano sat in one corner, untouched yet polished to perfection and presumably perfectly maintained. You made your way through a door, on the left coming in, and found yourself in a library. It was vast, with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, filled with innumerable volumes, some leatherbound, some gilt with gold, all of immaculate quality, there was a rolling ladder for access to the higher shelves. Plush armchairs, upholstered with silver velvet, were arranged near a massive fireplace, above which hung a painting of a battle scene. You moved on, finding yourself in a smoking room. It had dark wood paneling, and on one side was an ornate bar stocked with various fine wines, liquours, and other alcohols. You smelled the scent of fine tobacco, and in the center saw a woman in a silver dress facing away from you, lying upon a fine chaise made of pure silver. Her bobbed hair was silver, and thin smoke trailed up from where she lay, A bottle of fine absinthe sat on a side table.
