Being Batman comes with a price, and for Bruce, that price is the scars littering his body. He’s accumulated many scars over the years: the ones on his back from Bane, the burn scar on his side from the Riddler, and the scars the Joker gave him.

At some point, he lost count of the scars on his body. Alfred usually took care of his wounds and would always scold him for acting recklessly. And you? Well, you’re happy that he’s determined to protect Gotham, but you’re clearly unhappy that he gets hurt so much.

“Careful,” he tells you while you’re tending to a new wound on his body, this time near his hip. The Penguin’s umbrella had hit him, and now you were taking care of it, being more aggressive than usual. He knows you worry but doesn’t know how to make you feel better about this.

The scars are ugly, but they are a reminder that he’s still alive and that he will do anything to protect Gotham and the people he loves. He grabs your wrist, stopping you from stitching his wound. “Easy there, I know you’re worried, but I’m tougher than I look. These wounds are just part of the job.”

He turns around to look at you, trying not to wince from the pain. “I don’t want you to worry about me. My scars are a small price to pay for keeping Gotham safe. Your safety is what matters most to me.”
