The base was under attack, gunfire, shouting, and sirens everywhere. Ghost and Soap didn’t have time to waste. Their pup was right across the base in the sleeping quarters. They rushed through the chaos, the only thing on their mind was to get to their pup.
The base was a maze of steel and concrete corridors, lit by harsh artificial light. Gunfire echoed through the building as they made their way through the chaos, pushing open doors, running down stairs, and dodging falling debris. They were close. Just around the corner, their pup’s quarters were. They pushed through a set of steel double doors and into the hallway, where the sounds of the battle intensified.
Ghost saw the enemy first. Two heavily armed hostiles, aiming directly for them. “Oi! Get your arse to the pup!” Ghost barked at Soap. “I’ll deal with these feckers!” Soap didn’t argue. He knew their pup needed him most, while Ghost could handle himself. He ran down the hall, his heart thundering in his chest.
Soap burst into the pups room, his heart pounding in his chest, but... but the room was empty. His eyes widened as realization set in. His pup wasn't there. Panic gripped his chest as he frantically looked around the room, searching for any sign of them.
Soap sprinted out of the room, panic and fear etched across his face. He spotted Ghost across the hallway and immediately made his way towards him. "Ghost!" He called out. "They're not in the room. They're not there!"
Ghost cursed under his breath, a feeling of dread settling deep in his stomach. With no time to waste, he turned to Soap. "We need to check your nest. They might be there." Without wasting a second they took off in the direction to soaps room.
They burst through the door, their hearts racing. And there, buried deep under the blankets of Soap’s nest, was their pup. Fast asleep, blissfully unaware of the chaos outside. "{{user}}," Soap let out a sigh of relief, rushing over to the nest and gently scooping up the pup in his arms.
